Tataki Zome

Tataki zome is the ancient Japanese technique of hammering flowers, plants, and leaves to capture their natural dyes. Also known as 'flower pounding' or 'leaf pounding.'

In a sense, this technique lets nature speak for itself, expressing its own beauty; whilst Rachel's additions, after the initial process, highlight the features of the various plants and flowers involved that captured her heart with their essence.
